3rd September 2008

Milo is not doing well. He took a turn for the worst a week or so ago. He has lost weight and is very skinny. On the weekend I didn't think he would make it the night and had the emergency vet on standby, directions, number...everything ready and I called them. He wasn;t eating Friday or Saturday. But Sunday evening he got better. We decided to get a vet to do a home visit. We tried to arrange it for Monday night because we don;t want him to suffer. With my two previous CRF cats many years ago, one I always wondered if I let go too soon, and then next year with the other one I waited too long and one morning he had the most terrible convulsions, so I hed him through that and then took him to vet and let him go to be with his brother.

Since Monday he has continued to eat, though I have sit on the floor and basically hand feed him. He is on appetite enhancers and antacids. I still use aluminium hydroxide and we are up to 300mls of fluid a day. So tragically he doesn't have many days left but he is still hanging in there. I will remain so grateful for the extra months...nearly a year he got after his diagnosis in January that he had 2 weeks to 2 months to live.
